Tuina
Tuina or tui-na massage is one of the five main branches of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), along with phytotherapy, acupuncture, Qi gong, and Chinese herbal medicine. The Chinese Tuina massage is based on the same theoretical principles and the same philosophy as the traditional acupuncture school, but the treatment and stimulation of the acupressure points is done by hand, with the elbow or a suitable massage aid.
Tuina massage stimulates the flow of qi (energy pathways) to promote balance and harmony within the body using many of the same principles of acupuncture. It effectively supports the blood circulation and internal energy in the body. It is suitable for the treatment of chronic and acute conditions, as of musculoskeletal as internal organs.
Tuina Anmo is a medical massage therapy and a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The syllables Tui-Na-An-Mo literally describes the four basic techniques of this exceptional healing art:
„tui“ is translated with push, „na“ grasp, „an“ press and „mo“ means „to circle“.
In China, one or both terms are used depending on the region. In the Czech Republic, the term Tuina has become established and used.
Tuina therapy includes muscle massage, chiropractic manipulation, active and passive joint mobilization, as well as acupressure along the meridians and their points. In general, we talk about Tuina massage, because massage is the main part of the treatment.
